Our Annual "Bike Day!"

Learn Bike Safety & Bike Give-A-Way

2nd Saturday in May

The Dream Center holds a bike drive for youth 4 to 17 years of age to help them get to fun and safe programs and parks around town.  The give away takes place on the second Saturday of May each year, from 10 a.m. until the bikes are gone at Sarah Jane Church. Youth are referred to the event by area agencies. At the give-a-way they receive a helmet, are fitted to a bike, must take a safety course and agree to wear a helmet while riding.  Helmets are limited so if you have a helmet, bring it.

To make this program possible, there is a need for volunteers to work with the Southern Tier Bike Club to recondition bikes and on bike day set-up.

Bikes are collected year round and can be dropped off at Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, 308 Main Street, Johnson City, NY, Monday thru Thursday, 9:00 am to 1 PM

The bike give away underscores the spirit of community empowerment with the collaboration of:
Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church
The George F. Johnson Dream Center for Community Empowerment
The Southern Tier Bicycle Club
The Village of Johnson City
The Johnson City School District
The Broome County Traffic Safety Department
The Johnson City Police and Fire Departments
